Team Roles
Each team member is responsible for
1. working as their team role while communicating to produce ideas and solve problems
2. reading and understanding the RFP
3. developing the Personal Enterprise component. P.E. / Personal part with research & citations.
4. developing at least one additional idea with citations (ie. Community garden, Sustainability ideas, a development Art project etc...)

Team Roles
Creating an effective development team is a collaborative effort. Redevelopment plans are challenging and complex. The private development teams that respond to these challenges are composed of specialists who combine their expertise to create a successful project.
You will become the specialist for your team
Each specialist has a different area of responsibility; gathering, analyzing, and sharing information with the team; because each specialist has a different responsibility and different information, team members will disagree on what constitutes the best proposal. However, no one team member can get everything he/ she advocates. You must depend on each other to devise a good, comprehensive plan that balances competing interests, it is important that you:

know the information required of your role on the team thoroughly,

listen to your teammates; they have perspectives that you need to incorporate.

rely on each other to introduce important information and provide constructive feedback

Your team consists of the following five members. CEO Chief Exectutive Officer, The city Liaison, CFO Chief financial officer, Director of marketing, and the city planner/ architect.

CEO
The CEO or Chief Executive Officer helps others and helps lead and motivate the team while solving problems, and any conflicts. The CEO will organize create AND SHARE Google Docs (Proposal and Financial spreadsheet) with the CRA < echave02@lausd.net > . The CEO works at understanding all of the RFP (Request For Proposal Document) and makes sure the team meets the RFP requirements, specifically its deadlines. The CEO helps facilitate Group goals, organize teamwork and put the team proposal together including the cover sheet, table of contents, executive summary and the organization of the citations and following the writing process 1. Prewriting 2. Writing 3. Revision 4. Editing 5. Publishing
The City Liaison
The City Liaison plays a unique role in the organization.
The City Liaison has four key responsibilities:
1. Ensuring that the company acts responsibly in regard to the environment and social issues (Sustainability and Gentrification).
2. Interpreting the RFP and the needs of the community through surveys * Data must be included in presentation.
3. Responding to consumers’ concerns of sustainability and gentrification in their development and
4. Conducting market research (surveying potential customers) to determine community needs. Data must be included in presentation.
The City Liaison wants to make sure that the development is environmentally sound and socially responsible.

Finance Department CFO

The Finance Department has three primary responsibilities:
1. Working with other team members to plan, build, and market a profitable development
2. Go to zillow.com and figure the mean, median, and average price for the homes displayed in the development area. (Ignore the blank units)
Create 3 charts to display in your presentation
3. Developing corporate budgets and monitoring company performance and spending. How much will it cost and what is the profit
4. Processing invoices and payments

Finance’s primary concern for this project is that the proposal be profitable for the company .
Director of Marketing and Sales Department
​
The Marketing and Sales Department is responsible for the following:
1. Conducting market research (surveying potential customers) to determine customers’ demands
2. Developing advertising strategies that attract consumers
3. Selling the product to wholesale and/or retail customers Residents/ Retailers/ Office owners and the surrounding community
4. Maintaining customer relationships
5. First and foremost, it is Marketing’s job to make sure that the development appeals to its customers.
6. Organizing and finalizing presentation slides (PowerPoint), Keep simple- USE Mostly images !!!!

Architect/ City Planner
​
The Architect has three key responsibilities:
1. Overseeing the connection of ideas onto map sketches, iterations to a final map drawing
2. Making a quality scale Map of the location including a Map key
3. the three Dimensional Model, 3d computer model or a 3d hand built and painted model. Final Model with Printed labels
